Kimolos is quieter than many other Greek islands : Almost metaphysical. Time goes slowly as you wander among the quiet landscape. Once in a while a forgotten car wreck doesn't disturb the peace. It seems to be part of the silent passing of time. Empty paths in sleepy villages. White mines and white beaches create a superb contrast with the deep blue color of the sea. Infinite piles of stones forming endless walls. Allover like a mysterious plan. But you will never feel alone. Because a warm wind and a glittering light, will led you in white beaches and turquoise calm waters. This could be a perfect location for some kind of movie or a writers refuge. Kimolos island offers a secure relaxing vacation far from the noise. This little gem of the Cyclades is only a 30 minutes journey on ferry from Milos.

If you are sojourning in Milos, you can easily pay a visit. The ferry to Kimolos leaves from Pollonia.
The area surrounding the port as plenty of very nice beaches. Rocky beaches with crystal clear water with peaceful atmosphere. Psathi beach is my favorite.

If you like unusual plces where to take some good pictures, you shouldn't miss Skiadi mushroom. Skiadi is a huge stone with the shape of a mushroom, situated on the top of a hill.You will need to hike on a easy path for about 30 minutes each way. Skiadi is the symbol of Kimolos
